The facade of Government

Today sees the Second Reading of the Government's Criminal Justice and Courts Bill. What could have been an opportunity to make some lasting reforms to our criminal justice system is in fact little more than an attempt to fill parliamentary time so that the Government can claim that it has not yet run out of steam.

The Government has been under fire recently for the absolute lack of legislation.
